Middle School is a unique time in a child’s life. It serves as a link between the education of a young child and the education of a young adult preparing for college. No stone can be left unturned in this important transition stage of a child’s life. The Salisbury School’s Middle School dedicates itself to this preparation academically, emotionally, and socially.
Our Middle School classes are small by design. They are rigorous and challenging, yet presented in a supportive, caring environment. The teachers, being sensitive to their students’ individual needs, are able to create the perfect educational environment for budding scholars. All Middle School students are given a Chromebook. Assignments, class notes, research, and group projects are completed on such thus preparing our students for the world that awaits them in Upper School and beyond our campus.
Our Middle School curriculum not only expands a child’s knowledge in English, history, math, and science, but it also includes the performing arts, visual arts, physical education, wellness classes, technology, and foreign language. Middle School teachers collaborate to provide STEM and STEAM activities to help students keep pace with their ever changing world. So students learn they can make meaningful contributions to their community even at a young age, all Middle School grades participate in Community Service Learning through the United Way. Classes from Junior Achievement and The Conflict Resolution Center at Salisbury University help to round out our students’ educational experience.
Team sports, clubs, and an active student government allow our Middle School students to feel engaged and involved in their educational experience. Our Middle School students feel that they belong, that they are valued, and most importantly that they can succeed.
