Experiential learning is what Middle School is all about! Life happens outside of the traditional classroom and so does educational experiences in The Salisbury School’s Middle School. Field trips off campus abound and vary from walking Civil War battlefields to sailing the Chesapeake Bay, to touring the historical sites of Philadelphia, but our experiential learning is not limited to just traditional field trips.

We engage our children in experiential learning through hosting a medieval feast, Spanish Appreciation Day, the Science Expo, and book clubs. We visit Assateague Island for our field day and entertain grandparents on Grandparents' Day. We "visit" another country each year through our Global Awareness Day activities, which culminates with a special celebration that includes guest speakers, art projects, team sports, and enjoying cuisine from the country studied. Our chorus performs at Barnes and Noble during the Christmas holiday and our band entertains us with a lawn concert at the end of the year. We also host a winter and a spring concert on campus to showcase our talented students. Our young performers engage their audience during our eighth grade play and many of our students participate each year in our all-school musical, which in the past has included Peter Pan, South Pacific, and Beauty and the Beast to name just a few. The Salisbury School's Middle School is a place that values finding each child's special talent and helping that talent blossom.
