We are thrilled that your family is interested in pursuing a Salisbury School education
The Salisbury School offers our families a rolling admission. We welcome applications all year and consider admitting students mid-year based on availability and period allowed to complete the grades curriculum. An Admission Committee reviews all applications for grades K-12. We are seeking children of ability and character, and the school’s admission committee makes admission decisions in the best interest of the child.

  • Q: When will I know if my child has been accepted to The Salisbury School?

    The admission committee, comprised of faculty and administrators, reviews each application carefully. The committee will return an admission decision within two weeks of receiving a completed application. No decision will be made on incomplete applications.
  • Q: What testing is required for the application?

    Lower and Middle School applicants will take The Salisbury School’s admission test on the day that they come to school for their daylong visit.

    Upper School candidates will sit for the Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE). This three-hour standardized test from the Educational Records Bureau is offered four times during the school year.  We also do on site testing for students who make application to The Salisbury School at other times of the year.  
  • Q: Do students wear uniforms?

    No, The Salisbury School students do not wear uniforms. However, the school does have a dress code. The dress code is designed to allow individual expression within reasonable limits. Students are expected to wear clothing that is neat, clean, and modest.
  • Q: What kinds of colleges do graduates attend?

  • Q: Do your graduates receive scholarships to attend college?

    Yes. Many of our graduates earn generous merit scholarships and tuition grants for college. The class of 2016 averaged nearly $40,000 per student in grants and awards. Many of our students have also been honored with full tuition scholarships.
  • Q: What sports and extracurricular activities do you offer?

    The Salisbury School believes that a well-educated individual has a variety of interests including 17 competitive sports teams and activities in the fine and performing arts. To that end, students have a wide array of extra-curricular activities from which to choose. We invite you to explore the webpages of our athletics and arts departments to learn more.
  • Q: Do you offer financial aid?

    The Salisbury School offers tailored tuition to qualified families in order to make our program available to students of all backgrounds. We are committed to the fair and confidential administration of tailored tuition. Please visit the Tailored Tuition section of this website to learn how to apply. Pre-K classes do not qualify for tailored tuition.  
  • Q: Are you a religious school?

    The Salisbury School is an independent, non-sectarian school committed to a diversity of beliefs and backgrounds.
  • Q: When does the school day begin and end?

    The school day begins promptly each day at 8:15 and ends at 3:00 for students in grades K-12. (Upper School students may have extracurricular or athletic activities until 5:30)

    Pre-Kindergarten students are dismissed each day at 11:45.

    Our Extended Day program is available for Pre-Kindergarten through 8th Grade each afternoon until 5:30.
  • Q: Do you offer bus transportation?

    We do not offer bus transportation locally, although buses are available to students traveling from the Cambridge, MD, Ocean City, MD, Delaware Beaches, and Seaford, DE, areas. Please contact the Business Office (ext. 181) for information on bus schedules and fees.
